İşitme Engelliler Öğretmenleri ile Odyoloji ve Konuşma Bozuklukları Uzmanlarının İşitme Kayıplı Çocukların Eğitimi Hakkındaki Görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada işitme, konuşma, özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde çalışan işitme engelliler öğretmenleri ile odyoloji ve konuşma bozuklukları uzmanlarının, işitme kayıplı çocukların tanı, değerlendirme, eğitim süreçleri, eğitimlerinde ailelerin katılımına yönelik düzenlemelere ilişkin görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Betimsel desende nitel araştırma yönteminde gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmanın verileri, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Katılımcılar İzmir ilinde araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü 5 işitme engelliler öğretmeni ve 3 odyoloji (OKBU)'dır. İşitme kayıplı çocuklara özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon öğretmenleri ile odyoloji ve konuşma bozuklukları uzmanlarının görüşleri incelendiğinde ''İşitme engelli öğrencilerin tanı ve değerlendirme süreçlerine ilişkin görüşler, İletişim yaklaşımlarına ve uygulanan programa ilişkin görüşler, İzleme ve değerlendirmeye ilişkin görüşler, İşbirliğinin önemine ilişkin görüşler, Yasal düzenlemelere ilişkin görüşler'' olmak üzere beş ana temada betimlenmiştir. Ana temalar, 11 alt temadan oluşmaktadır. Çalışma sonunda işitme kaybının erken dönemde tanılanması, okul öncesi ve diğer öğretim kademelerinde aileye eğitim desteğinin verilmesi, işaret dilinin öğretmenlere öğretilmesi gibi öneriler ortaya çıkmıştır.

This study aims to examine the opinions of teachers of children with hearing impairment who teach rehabilitation centers, audiologists and speech pathologists about diagnosis, evaluation, educational process of children with hearing loss and about participation of their families in their education. The data of this study which was conducted in descriptive design as a qualitative research have been collected with the semi-structured interview technique. The participants are 5 teachers of children with hearing impairment and 3 audiologists and speech pathologists who were volunteer to participate in the research in Izmir. The findings obtained from the opinions of teachers, audiologists and speech pathologist who support children with hearing loss in terms of special education an rehabilitation were described under five main themes: Opinions about diagnosis and evaluation process of the students with hearing impairment, opinions about the communicative approaches and programs applied, opinions about monitoring importance of cooperation, opinions about legal regulations. The main themes consist of 11 subthemes. The suggestions obtained at the end of the study are diagnosis of hearing loss at early ages, providing educational support to family for preschool and other educational levels, teaching sign language to teachers.
