TİCARİ DIŞA AÇIKLIĞIN ENFLASYON VE BÜYÜME İLE İLİŞKİSİ: YÜKSELEN PİYASA EKONOMİLERİNDE PANEL VERİ ANALİZİ UYGULAMASI

Abstract

İhracat ve ithalat toplamının GSMH’ye oranı şeklinde ifade edilen ticari dışa açıklık,ülke ekonomisi üzerinde dış ticaretin ne kadar etkin olduğunu gösteren bir değişkendir.Çalışmada ticari dışa açıklığın enflasyon ve büyüme ile ilişkisi 19 ülke üzerinden panel verianalizi yöntemiyle test edilmektedir. Analizlerde kullanılan Westerlund (2007) eşbütünleşmetesti sonucunda seriler arasında uzun dönemli eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin olduğu görülmüştür.Emirmahmutoğlu ve Köse (2011) nedensellik testinde ise ticari dışa açıklık ile ekonomik büyümearasında çift yönlü, enflasyon ile ticari dışa açıklık arasında enflasyondan ticari açıklığa doğrutek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmaktadır.

The trade openness, expressed as the ratio of the sum of exports and imports toGDP, is an indicator of how effective foreign trade on the country’s economy. In the study,the relationship of trade openness with inflation and growth is tested by panel data analysismethod. The findings of Westerlund (2007) cointegration test showed that there was a longrun cointegration relationship between the series. Emirmahmutoğlu and Köse (2011) causalitytest were used for causality analysis. According to the results obtained from the test, there isa bi-directional causality relationship between trade openness and economic growth. There isa one-way causality relationship between inflation and trade openness, from inflation to tradeopenness.
