Etkileşimli kitap okuma programının 48-66 aylık Suriyeli çocukların alıcı dil gelişimine etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada etkileşimli kitap okuma programına dâhil edilen 48-66 aylık Suriyeli çocukların alıcı dil gelişimlerinin desteklenmesi amaçlanmış ve deneysel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında Gaziantep ili Nizip ilçesindeki Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı anaokullarına devam eden 48-66 aylık Suriyeli çocuklar oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu; ön test-son test deney ve kontrol gruplu seçkisiz desen kullanılarak oluşturulmuş; 16'sı deney 16'sı kontrol grubu olacak şekilde 32 Suriyeli çocuk çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Çocukların alıcı dil gelişim düzeyleri Peabody Resim Kelime Testi (PRKT) ile belirlenmiş, demografik özelliklerine ilişkin bilgilere ise araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" kullanılarak ulaşılmıştır. Deney grubundaki çocuklar 4 kişi olacak şeklinde gruplara ayrılıp her gruptaki çocuklara haftada 1 kez 1 saat olmak üzere 5 hafta boyunca etkileşimli kitap okuma programı uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS for Windows 22.0 istatistik programı kullanılmış, deney grubunda yer alan Suriyeli çocuklara uygulanan etkileşimli kitap okuma programına yönelik eğitiminin alıcı dil gelişimlerini desteklediği, buna karşın kontrol grubuna dâhil edilen Suriyeli çocuklara uygulanan geleneksel okul öncesi eğitim programının alıcı dil gelişimi için yeterli olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca yaş ve cinsiyet açısından Peabody Resim Kelime Testinin ön test ve son test puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı sonucuna da ulaşılmıştır.

In this study, it was aimed to support the receptive language development of 48-66 month-old Syrian children who were included in the dialogic reading program, and an experimental research design was used. The population and sample of the study consists of 48-66 month-old Syrian children attending preschools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Nizip district of Gaziantep province in the 2019-2020 academic year. The study group of the research; pre-test- post-test was created using a random pattern with experimental and control groups; 32 Syrian children were included in the study, 16 of which were experimental and 16 were control groups. Children's receptive language development levels were determined with the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT), and information on demographic characteristics was obtained using the "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher. The children in the experimental group were divided into groups of 4 people and an interactive reading program was applied to the children in each group for 1 hour once a week for 5weeks. In the analysis of the data, SPSS for Windows 22.0 statistical program was used, and it was determined that the program-oriented training applied to Syrian children in the experimental group supported their development of recipient language, whereas the pre-school education program for Syrian children included in the control group was not sufficient for receiving language develoment. In addition, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test pretest and posttest scores in terms of age and gender.
