Bilgi ekonomisi - ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi: Türkiye örneği

Abstract

Günümüzde bilgi ekonomisinin önemli unsurları niteliğinde olan AR-GE faaliyetleri, bilişim teknolojileri, patent sayıları ve diğer telif haklarının ekonomi üzerinde yarattığı etkiler literatürde teorik ve ampirik olarak birçok çalışmaya konu olmuştur. Büyüme konusu üzerinde çalışan iktisatçılar tarafından ekonomik büyümeyi etkileyen unsurların başında bilgi ekonomisi değişkeni olduğu görüşünü ileri sürmektedirler. Bu tez çalışmasında bilgi ekonomisi ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki 1984- 2019 dönemleri arasında analiz edilmiştir. Analize konu olan bilgi ekonomisi ölçütü olarak patent başvuruları ve hizmet ihracatının yüzdesi değişkenleri kullanılmıştır. Değişkenlerin birim kök analizleri ADF, PP ve Lee Strazicich testleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Değişkenler arasında eş bütünleşmenin varlığını sınamak amacıyla Hatemi- J eş bütünleşme testi kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkilerini saptamak amacıyla ise Hacker ve Hatemi- J Nedensellik testi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen ampirik bulgulara gore modele konu olan değişkenlerin I (1) seviyesinde durağan olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Eşbütünleşme testi sonucuna gore ise Türkiye Ekonomisi üzerinden bilgi ekonomisi ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemli ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Nedensellik ilişkisi sonuçlarına göre ise ekonomik büyümeden iletişim teknolojileri ihracatına yönelik tek yönlü ilişki olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır Anahtar Kelime: Bilgi Ekonomisi, Ekonomik Büyüme, Patent Başvuruları; Dış Ticaret Dengesi

Today, the effects of R&D activities, information technologies, number of patents and other copyrights, which are important elements of the knowledge economy, on the economy have been the subject of many theoretical and empirical studies in the literature. Economists working on the subject of growth argue that the factors affecting economic growth are the information economy variables at the beginning. In this thesis, the relationship between the knowledge economy and economic growth was analyzed between 1984 and 2019. Patent applications and percentage of service exports were used as the criterion of knowledge economy, which is the subject of the analysis. Unit root analyzes of the variables were made using ADF, PP and Lee Strazicich tests. In order to test the existence of co-integration between the variables, the Hatemi-J co-integration test was used. In order to determine the causality relations between the variables, the Hacker and Hatemi-J causality test was performed. According to the empirical findings, it was concluded that the variables subject to the model were stationary at the (1) level. According to the results of the cointegration test, it has been determined that there is a long-term relationship between the knowledge economy and economic growth over the Turkish Economy. According to the causality relationship results, it was concluded that there is a one-way relationship from economic growth to communication technologies exports.
