Özet
COVID-19 has been defined globally as a pandemic that has affected every country and every sector positively or negatively. Supply chains in the global competitive environment have been subjected to sharp limitations and restrictions as they try to maintain their current existence with all their characteristics despite the pandemic period. Due to the pandemic, technological change and digital transformation mechanisms have completely changed the structure of the supply chain ecosystem. Businesses that could not keep up with this change have been observed to exhibit a weak, fragile, and inflexible attitude against adverse market conditions. It has been emphasized that the food and agriculture sector, in particular, should pay more attention to sustainability in the supply chain than ever before in a global pandemic environment where interruptions and disruptions are intense. Therefore, the content of this chapter consists of an assessment of the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on existing supply chain and policy recommendations determined in line with the measures that the food and agriculture sector should take to express the importance of the issue. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
