| dc.description.abstract | The addition of increasing complexity and uncertainty with the globalization of supply chains, as well as epidemics that have increased recently and affected the whole world, causes supply problems in all sectors, especially agriculture and food. All these developments have revealed the necessity of transforming existing supply chain systems into a more technologically intelligent and sustainable structure. Today, blockchain has started to take its place in the literature as a technology that is increasing its importance day by day due to its high potential in ensuring security and sustainability in supply chains. This study specifically addresses global epidemics that may negatively affect the agriculture and food supply chain. However, ways are being sought to make agriculture and food supply chains safer in the face of increasing epidemics. For this purpose, the superior features of blockchain technology are highlighted, its prominent features in its integration into the supply chain are emphasized, and thus, how to combat the negative effects of global epidemics is discussed. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024. | en_US |
