Mültecilerin yaşadığı iletişim engellerinin bütünleşme sürecine etkisi

Abstract

Son otuz yılda Orta Doğuda sayısız çatışma ve iç karışıklık meydana gelmiştir. Bu kaotik ortam çeşitli göç hareketlerine sebep olmuştur. Suriye göçü bu hareketlerden biridir. Bilindiği üzere Suriye'de yaşanan iç savaş sonucunda bu ülkeden dünyanın birçok ülkesine göçler başlamıştır. Göçmenler vardıkları ülkede; kültürel yapıya, sosyal hayata ve ekonomiye katılmakta çoğu zaman güçlük çekmektedir. Bu zorlukları ortadan kaldırmak için entegrasyon çalışmaları gereklidir. Entegrasyonu, geçmiş göç yasa ve kavramları ile açıklamak neredeyse imkansızdır. Günümüz göç olgusunu açıklarken birey düzeyinde analizlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu anlamda çalışmada John Widdup Berry'nin kültürleşme modeline yer verilmiş olup, göçmenler için en doğru görülen bütünleşme boyutu üzerinde durulmuştur. Göçmenlerin bütünleşme sürecinde bir engel teşkil eden iletişim engeli irdelenmiştir. Hayatın her alanında gerekli olan iletişim kavramı göçmenlerle sağlıklı iletişim kurmak açısından hayati öneme sahiptir. Göçmen entegrasyonunu sağlamada, göçmenlerin iletişim engellerini belirlemek önem arz eden bir konudur. Göçmenlerin hangi iletişim engeline ne düzeyde maruz kaldığını ortaya çıkarmak ve bunun kültürleşme yönelimlerinden bütünleşme boyutunu ne düzeyde etkilediğini ortaya koymak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma ile göç literatürüne ait kavram ve kuramlar açıklanmış, göçmenlerin iletişim engelleri belirlenmiş ve bütünleşme yönelimine etkileri ortaya konmuştur. Çalışmada 2011 Suriye iç savaşından kaçarak zorunlu olarak Türkiye'ye yerleşen göçmenlere anket yöntemi ile sorular yöneltilmiş ve bilimsel bulgular elde edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen verilere göre göçmenler iletişim engeli yaşadığında ekonomiye katılımda zorlanmaktadır. Çalışmadan elde edilen bir diğer çıkarım ise katılımcıların göçmen statüsnden kaynaklı iletişim engeli yaşadığıdır. Anahtar Kelimeler: göç, göçmen, entegrasyon, iletişim, kültürleşme.

Over the past thirty years, the Middle East has seen several wars and political upheavals. Numerous migration movements have been sparked by this chaotic atmosphere. Migration from Syria to Turkey is one of these movements. As it is known, as a result of the civil war in Syria, migration movements started from this country to many countries of the world. Immigrants often had difficulties in participating in the cultural structure, social life and economy in the country they come from. Integration studies are necessary to eliminate these difficulties. Therefore, it is almost impossible to explain only integration in terms of immigration laws and concepts in the past. When explaining today's migration phenomenon, analyses at the individual level are needed. In this sense, the acculturation model of John Widdup Berry was discussed in this study and the most accurate integration dimension for immigrants was tried to be emphasized. With the study, the communication barrier, which is an obstacle in the integration process of immigrants, has been examined. The concept of communication, which is necessary in all areas of life, is of vital importance in establishing correct communication with immigrants. Identifying the communication barriers of immigrants is an important issue in ensuring immigrant integration. It is necessary to reveal what communication barriers immigrants are exposed to and to what extent this affects the integration dimension, which is one of the acculturation orientations. In this study, the concepts and theories of the migration literature were explained, the communication barriers of the immigrants were determined and their effects on the integration orientation were revealed. In the study, questions were asked to the immigrants who settled in Turkey by fleeing from the 2011 Syrian civil war for compulsory reasons, and scientific findings were obtained. According to the data obtained from the research, immigrants have difficulty in participating in the economy when they experience communication barriers. Another conclusion drawn from this study was that the participants' immigration status was one of the key factors determining the communication barrier.
