Liselere Geçiş Sistemi Sınavının okul ve öğrenci özelliklerine etkisine ilişkin öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı Liselere Geçiş Sistemi (LGS) Sınavı'nın okuldaki iletişime, öğretim ve ölçme değerlendirme uygulamalarına; öğrencilerin başarılarına, sosyal ve psikolojik durumlarına etkisini ortaokul sekizinci sınıf öğretmen ve öğrencilerinin görüşlerine göre incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden betimleyici durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmış, etkisi incelenen tek durum LGS olduğundan yöntem tekli durum deseni olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Gaziantep İli Şahinbey İlçesi'ndeki amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 3 ortaokulun 8.sınıf öğretmenleri ile 8. Sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmış, elde edilen veriler MAXQDA2022 programı aracılığıyla tema ve kodlar oluşturularak bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda LGS'nin öğrencilerin öğretmenleri, aileleri ve arkadaşları ile iletişimlerini sınırladığı, öğretmenlerin öğretim ve ölçme değerlendirme uygulamalarını LGS'ye yönelik şekillendirdiği, merkezi sınavın öğrencilere çalışma alışkanlığı kazandırdığı, öğrencilerin sosyal, kültürel, sportif faaliyetlerine katılımları ve öğrenci psikolojisi üzerinde olumsuz etkisinin olduğu görüşlerine ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin ortak görüşleri arasında sınavla yerleştirme yerine öğrenci ilgi ve yeteneklerinin dikkate alındığı yeni bir sistem önerisi yer almaktadır.

The focus of this research is to evaluate the impact of the High School Entrance System test on communication, teaching and assessment methods at school, students' achievement, and social and psychological states, according to the viewpoints of secondary school eighth-grade instructors and students. The descriptive case study technique, one of the qualitative research designs, was employed in the research, and as LGS was the only case whose influence was evaluated, the approach was identified as a single case design. The research group comprises 8th-grade instructors and 8th-grade students of 3 secondary schools chosen by purposive sample technique in Gaziantep Province Şahinbey District in the 2021-2022 academic year. Semi-structured interview approach was utilized to gather the data, and the conclusions were attained by developing themes and codes with the MAXQDA2022 application. As a consequence of the study, LGS inhibits students' contact with their instructors, family, and friends and affects teachers' teaching and evaluation approaches toward LGS. In addition, it has been found that the central test has a detrimental influence on students' engagement in social, cultural, and sporting activities and on student psychology. As a consequence of the interviews, students and instructors created a system in which students' interests and talents are taken into consideration.
