Üniversite öğrencilerinin kariyer problem alanları ve kariyer yardımı arama davranışlarının keşfedilmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşadıkları kariyer problem alanlarını ve bu problemleri çözebilmek için kariyer yardım arama davranışlarını derinlemesine incelemektir. Araştırma kapsamında üniversite eğitimine devam eden 6 erkek, 6 kadın katılımcı ile görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada nitel çalışma yönteminden olgubilim yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış ''Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Kariyer Problem Alanları ve Kariyer Yardımı Arama Görüşme Formu'' kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır ve veriler MAXQDA-12 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kariyer problem alanları içerisinde yer alan çevresel faktörler ve toplumsal faktörlerin oranlarının birbirine yakın olduğu görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin üniversite bünyesinde bulunan kariyer merkezleri ve psikolojik danışma merkezleri hakkında detaylı bilgiye sahip olmadıkları ve bu kurumlardan yardım talebinde bulunmadıkları, yaşadıkları kariyer probleminin çözümü için daha çok informel kaynaklarından yardım aradıkları görülmektedir. İnternetin ve arkadaşların problem durumunda başvurulan önemli yardım kaynaklarından olduğu dikkat çekmektedir.

The aim of this research is to examine the career problem areas of university students and their help seeking behaviors in order to solve these problems. Within the scope of the research, 6 male and 6 female participants who continue their university education were interviewed. In the research, the phenomenological approach from the qualitative study method was used. In the study, data were collected using the semi-structured "Career Problem Areas in University Students and Career Help Seeking Interview Form" created by the researchers and the data were analyzed with the MAXQDA-12 program. As a result of the analysis, it is seen that the ratios of environmental factors and social factors in career problem areas are close to each other. It is seen that the students do not have detailed information about the career centers and psychological counseling centers within the university and they do not ask for help from these institutions, and they mostly seek help from informal sources for the solution of their career problems. It is noteworthy that the Internet and friends are important sources of help in case of problem.
